What you need
Kraken connects with a read-only API key. It lets TradeDNA see your trades and balances, never place orders or move funds. Your full trade history imports on connect.
1. Create a read-only key
In Kraken, open Settings, then API, and choose Add key. Give it a name like TradeDNA, then tick only these four permissions:
Query, under Funds permissions
Query open orders & trades, under Orders and trades
Query closed orders & trades, under Orders and trades
Query ledger entries, under Data
Leave everything else off, especially Withdraw, Create & modify orders, and Cancel & close orders. Leave the WebSocket, IP address restriction, key expiration, and query date options off too. Then choose Generate key and copy both the API key and the Private key.
2. Add the connection
In TradeDNA, go to Settings, then Connections, open the Auto-sync tab, choose Add auto-sync account, and pick Kraken. Paste your key into API key and your private key into API secret (private key), add an optional Account label, and choose Connect Kraken.
3. Done
When it connects, you will see your trades imported, and new trades sync on their own from here.
If you see a note that a permission is missing, open the key in Kraken and confirm all four query permissions above are ticked, then reconnect.
