What a health connection does
TradeDNA automatically uses optional sleep and recovery data for untouched sleep and stress Journal values and adds that context to your daily risk score, performance analysis, and Helix. An imported value has a dotted slider thumb and counts immediately without another tap. Adjusting the slider creates your manual override for that day, and your own Journal value always wins. Focus always remains manual.
This is read-only wellness context, not medical monitoring. TradeDNA never writes back to a health provider, diagnoses you, blocks a trade, or takes an automated trading action.
Choose a connection
Open Settings, choose Connections, and scroll to Wearables.
Apple Health appears only in a compatible TradeDNA app on an Apple device where health data is available.
Health Connect appears only in a compatible TradeDNA app on Android.
Whoop and Oura appear when their account connection is available.
For Apple Health or Health Connect, choose Connect, read the disclosure, and continue to the system permission screen. TradeDNA attempts to import up to 30 days during setup and always refreshes when you open or return to the app while connected. If a refresh is interrupted, TradeDNA retries once quietly and shows a warning only if that retry also fails. It does not sync in the background in this release.
Apple Watch sends supported readings into Apple Health on the paired iPhone. TradeDNA reads Apple Health rather than connecting directly to the watch.
What native health reads
Apple Health and Health Connect provide only:
Sleep sessions.
Heart-rate variability.
Resting heart rate.
The app converts individual samples into bounded daily aggregates on your device. Individual samples and source record identifiers stay on your device. TradeDNA does not request workouts, steps, activity, continuous heart-rate series, location, medical records, or background health access.
TradeDNA turns those aggregates into a 1-10 sleep score and, after enough prior days exist, a 1-10 stress score. Raw health values are not sent to Helix, product analytics, advertising systems, notifications, or public APIs. Helix receives only the same normalized sleep and stress context already available through your Journal.
Sync and source device controls
On Android, choose Manage access to open TradeDNA's Health Connect permissions. On Apple devices, review permissions in Health > Summary > your profile picture or initials > Apps or Devices > TradeDNA. Apple may show setup complete without claiming whether specific read access was granted, because the system does not reveal that distinction to apps. Android can show full, partial, denied, missing-provider, and update-required states. A native health card remains Connected when access is active but no supported sample is currently available.
One source device can upload for each native health provider on your TradeDNA account. Choose Replace device on the device you want to use if another device is already selected. The prior device then stops uploading to that account.
Disconnect
Choose Disconnect to stop future syncing. Your synced history stays in your Journal. Your original data remains in Apple Health or Health Connect, and system health permissions remain under your control in device settings. Deleting your TradeDNA account removes native health connections and imported health history.
If a card or data is missing
Native health cards appear only inside a compatible installed app, not in a browser or an older shell. On Android 10-13, install or update Health Connect when prompted. On newer Android versions, update the system health provider if prompted. Work profiles or device policies may make health access unavailable.
If setup completes with no readable data, the connection can still be working normally. Confirm that a supported sleep, heart-rate variability, or resting heart-rate sample exists in your system health app. On Android, use Manage access if you want to review TradeDNA's permissions. On Apple devices, use the Health app route above. An empty or limited read never deletes history already imported into TradeDNA.
